In 1995 a month-long standoff occured in ‘British Columbia’ between natives and the police after a local ranger asked the police to evict a sundance camp.  In a firefight on September 11, police fired tens of thousands of rounds and blew up a truck. Although lightly armed, the warriors suceeded in disabling a ‘Bison’ armoured personal carrier used by the police. Like most of B.C., Secmepmec territory remains unceeded.
